Thal Camping- Day 2- Dead Horse Point & Canyonlands

My heavens!  It rained so hard and stormed so loud I thought our tent would blow away and/or a river of flash flood water would wash us away during the night.  The tent was bent in half blowing because of the storm was so strong.
It took a while to get out from the camp grounds today but I don't think anyone cared too much.  The kids just loved playing and exploring.
Today we went to Dead Horse Point and Canyonlands.  It was cloudy most of the day but it was still beautiful.  We had to stop at the rangers stations so the kids could do their Jr. Ranger Program. Some cousins chose to do it with our kids too.  It was fun for them to work on together.
We went to Dead Horse Point first.  It was just so amazingly beautiful.  Dad was a bit nervous with the kids around the cliffs but they were all good and didn't get too close, even though it was still too close for Dad....hahaha.
We went to several spots that were little scenic spots and trails to go and look at the beautiful landscape.  We took lots of photos and I was loving it but I don't know if everyone was loving me taking lots of photos....oh, well.  Now that we are home, they're asking for the photos and like that I did take so many.  hehehe
Before leaving Dead Horse Point, we had to go back so the kids could get their Jr. Ranger Badges. They also had a penny machine.  So the kids each got a penny from being there too.  We also got our magnet and books from the national & state parks we visit.
In Canyonlands, we stopped and had our lunches while the kids were getting their Jr, Ranger books to start.  After lunch, we drove to Mesa Arch then hiked over to it.  It was absolutely amazing.  We were taking photos and then all of a sudden, Quique is on TOP of the arch.  I was having a heart attack. Then he wanted to take the kids and me too- NO WAY!  I wasn't about to do that or let the kids.  That was just a bit too terrifying.  We hiked back to the cars and loaded up to go to the next spot.
We went to Grand Point.  Wow, that was so beautiful too.  We took a lot more photos.  However, we could see the storm getting closer so, we didn't spend a long time there.  We packed up to hit one more spot before the storm hit.
On our way out, we split up again.  We  (our family and Sean's) had to take the kids back to the Ranger station to turn in their Jr Ranger books and get their badges.  Everyone else went to go see one last spot.  However, when they got there it was lightning near them and the storm was on top of them.
We all met back up at camp and had a lot of fun before going to bed and trying to stay dry and warm.
