We got up early and had breakfast at the hotel. We went potty and started driving. Enrique borrowed Ana Laura's car to come pick us up at the boarder. We met at Mari Carmen's house. Quique got to her house not long after we did. She really wanted us to go to lunch with her and the boys so we went to this pizza buffet place. It was nice spending time with her and her boys. They're so cute.
Then it was time for us to make the last 4 hour trip to Chihuahua. We did stop in the burrito town for some burritos and quesadillas.
We got to Chihuahua when it was getting dark. We went straight to the hospital to see Papi. Angel and Odette met us at the hospital and they kept our kids while we went in to see Papi. When Quique and I came to the floor where Papi was, Ana Laura, Carlos and Mami were out in the lobby talking. Carlos just found out that they are going to be moving to Mexico City within this month and they had to leave the following day to find a place to live and a school for the kids. So they asked me if I'd help watch their kids while they were gone.
Then Mami said it was ok for Quique and I to come see Papi. He didn't look so great. Quique said Papi looked night and day difference from when he left this morning. Poor Papi was in so much pain. The hospitals in Mexico are very different to what I'm used to (see full colors in my journal). The family of the patient mainly takes care of them. Once we got in to see Papi, he had a high fever so we were putting cold wet rags on Papi's head, neck and arm pits to bring his temperature down. Papi kept holding his forehead so Quique was rubbing his head and forehead to help ease the pain, it seemed to have worked while he was doing it. We were there for some time with him. It was nice to be there with Papi and Mami, even though the circumstances were so critical, we were all there together!
