My Boy's Sweet Feet

So I saw some really sweet photos of babies and their little hands and feet.  I've been trying to catch some of those with Mateo, it's not going so great but they are still cute.

Corn

We did our yearly corn husking and freezing the last two days.  Yesterday we husked all 9 dozen corn on the cob.  Today I cut it all off the cob and Isabel and Lili helped me package them into 1-2 dinner portions in the freezer bags.  They really helped me a ton.  Gaby had the baby while we did the corn.  Thanks to all of you sweet girls!

Lili & Mateo

I was so worried about how Lili would be with her little brother.  I am very pleased to say she has been so wonderful with him.  She really loves him and takes care of him.  She is super sweet to him too.  He is always looking for her when he hears her and waiting for her to come play with him.

Firearms Safety Class

Enrique took Gaby to a firearms safety class today and she absolutely loved it.  She was the only little kid there but they were impressed at how well she could do.  Enrique is one proud Papi, that's for sure!

Swim Lessons

This year the girls got to have swimming lessons, with their cousins too, which made it more exciting.  This was the last day of class so they could show their parents all they learned.  It was really neat.  I am so glad we signed them up, who knows how or when they will need these skills.

Fireman

The firemen were called to our neighbors house today.  The power transformer was dripping hot liquid and it caught their mulch on fire, which in turn caught their newly replaced vinyl fence on fire.  So they had to go around turning every one's power off.  So we just had to get a photo with this fireman.  He was super friendly.

PS- the neighbors fence fire was out before they showed up thanks to another neighbor spraying it with water.

Gaby's Getting Baptized

Gaby will be getting baptized next week, so I just wanted to get some shots of her now before all the company comes and is too crazy.  She looks so beautiful.  I can't believe she is old enough to be baptized.  I am so proud of her, Papi too.

This was is the dress I was baptized in that my mom made.

This will be her dress to wear after she is baptized.

This headband is from when Enrique and I got married.  His mom made it for me.  Gaby wanted to wear it but decided not to during all these photos because it was just too big for her head.

She is so pretty.

Her dress is so brilliantly white against the red shrubs.

This is the photo she chose for her baptismal program.

BYU

I found the same BYU shirt for Mateo as the girls have so we had to take some photos.

Jumperoo

Our neighbor gave us this jumeroo for Mateo.  He absolutely loves it.  He goes crazy in it.  At first I thought it was Lili making him be that way but oh no, it was him doing it.  Of course he wasn't doing it as fast once I got the camera out but it's still cute.

Stitches

Today Isabel had to go get stitches, poor thing.  We were in the pool while the baby was sleeping.  Isabel went inside to get a hair tie to put her hair in a ponytail.  She ran back out and slipped and fell in the kitchen.  Her finger went in the vent and got stuck.  When she got it out, it sliced her finger real bad.  She came outside crying and I saw her hand dripping with blood.

I jumped out of the pool, Gaby turned on the hose so I could see where the blood was coming from, and all I see is a huge flap on her pinkie.  I had to get control of myself because I was about to loose it.  This is Enrique's field, definitely not mine.  Plus if I wasn't calm then Isabel would be worse.

We came in, wrapped a washcloth around it after I held it closed tightly for a while.  Gaby ran around for me getting everyone in dry clothes and bringing a cover up for Isabel to put on over her swimsuit.  I called Enrique to tell him and then he talked to Isabel on our whole drive there, about 10-15 min.

On our way there, I was thinking I should have asked a neighbor to keep the girls so they wouldn't be scared.  As soon as we took the exit off 89, I had a thought to call Sean.  Sean works 1 block away and his office has a spot where the kids could be for 30 min or so.  So I called him and he said sure.  So Gaby and Lili hung out for less than 30 minutes at his work.  I was so grateful that he wasn't out of town, he leaves tomorrow for his trip.

We get to the doctor's office and they take us back right away.  Isabel wasn't too scared because Papi told her everything that would happen.  So Isabel was telling the nurse how Papi told her everything.  She was super brave!  They were saying she was the bravest little kid they've had there.  She only cried while the medicine was going in to numb her pinkie and that's it.  Then she was watching the doctor sew her finger back together.  It was so gross, I couldn't even watch but she was loving it.  She was cracking jokes with them as well.   The nurse asked her what she wanted to do when she was older and her reply was to work there and fix little girls fingers.  She ended up getting 4 stitches. She was so brave!
