Camping- Day 2

I woke up super early because I was an ice cube.  Most of us didn't sleep well because we were so cold and also Mateo didn't sleep well at all, it was pretty horrible actually.    I gave most of the extra blankets to the kids that were for me and Quique.  So, I got up and started a fire.  (Just so you know, my phone died again so I all my photos from camping.....urg!  Blasted phones.)  Then everyone started coming little by little.  We all ate our breakfast around the fire.  Then we had the entire day ahead of us.  The kids went exploring more and kept coming back showing us what they found and told us about what they were doing.  They spent a good portion of the morning catching butterflies again.  We were slow moving and in no rush to go and do anything.  It was perfect!
Then we decided to go on a hike to the lake.  We were all going to go and take lunch so I went to our campsite to get it ready and when I got back Dave's family already left and Sean and Erika didn't know what was going on.  So we only took a few snacks, went to check it out then came back for lunch.  WOW!!!  It was absolutely amazing.  It was so beautiful down at the lake and walking through the forest to get there and back.  We went back to camp for lunch.  After lunch we all loaded up in our cars and went on a scenic drive around the area where we were staying.  Holy cow!  It is so breath takingly beautiful. We pulled over and took photos at several places.  It was truly heavenly.
Once we got back to camp, we all went down to the lake.  Sean took his fishing pole to fish and let some of the kids do it.  Other kids went in the freezing cold water, Gaby & Lili stayed in the longest.  While we were there, McKenna stepped on a fishing hook.  Luckily, it didn't go in very far because it basically fell out.  Once that happened we started noticing how much fishing line and hooks were ALL over the place.  It was so sad, such a beautiful place with all that around.  So the kids started collecting and it, carefully, and putting it in a pile under a large rock.  We were down there til dinner time.  It was so peaceful and wonderful.
We told everyone that we would love to come here every year and as always camp in a new place.  But for at least our little family, we will go back to the Uintas annually.  It feels like heaven on earth, I know that sounds so cheesy but it really does.
We started a fire for dinner again, ate around the fire and then had smores and fun around the fire as it was dark.  Once it was late, we put the kids to bed but didn't last long because Mateo woke up and was screaming for us.  So we ran back to our camp and got him and brought him back to the fire with us.  I hope tonight is better than last night.....
