Thal Camping- Day 2

We woke up and started a fire because it was pretty chilly.  Papi made a delicious breakfast using the volcano and dutch oven.  We played around a bit until it got warmer.  Papi, Mateo and Cooper were playing baseball and the rest of the kids were just playing around exploring.
Then we decided to go down to the lake and spent the rest of the morning and part of the afternoon down there.  It was a lot of fun watching everyone doing their thing and the kids having an absolute blast!
So yesterday when Jake took the big kids down to the lake, Isabel's brand new water shoes got sucked off her feet in the thick mud.  However, Jake ended up finding them!  How impossible is that?!  No one could believe it.  I was really grateful because there were fishing lines throughout the area. Some went fishing, some played in the thick mud, some played in the water with floaties and some others played in the sand.  It was so nice.
We left when everyone got hungry, so we went back to camp and made lunches.  It started to rain a bit.  Mark suggested we go on a drive to "Devil's Kitchen".  So we did.  We drove along the beautiful Nebo Scenic Loop.  It was gorgeous.  We stopped a lot along the way to take photos.  Then we finally got to "Devil's Kitchen", it's red rock like down in Bryce Canyon.  it was pretty cool.  This drive was just absolutely beautiful, to see all of God's many different creations and enjoy them.  It was really beautiful.
Mateo was burning up during our drive so luckily Erika had taken the medicine in her van so she gave me some for him and he finally conked out, poor thing was so tired.  He really doesn't look good.  Lili also conked out on the way back to camp.  Joe, Jake, and Dominic sat in the back of the truck while we went on our little excursion.  They liked it too.
Once Lili woke up, she came out of the truck looking for Cooper.  So she went over to his tent and didn't find him.  Then she looked up and saw a moose....yes folks.....a moose in eating her way along the stream right by camp.  She was in a dead sprint to get to it.  She got maybe 2 car lengths away from it when I realized why she was running that fast to see it.  I (in a panicked voice) yell "LILI STOP!"  I quickly change my tone so the moose doesn't tear off down after her and everyone came running over because of my panic tone. She came over to us and we realized it was apparently used to people so it just kept eating it's way up the stream.  So we took tons of photos with Lili and her moose she found.  She was SO proud of herself for finding it.  She let everyone know that it was her moose because she found it!  ahahahahaha  Oh sweet Lili!  As the moose was going up stream, some other lady got her ipad out and was filming it, but the moose could have turned around and jumped on her, she was so close.  So dad, being the funny blunt man we all know he is, says "Lady, get back.  Hey lady, are you nuts?"  We all died laughing so hard.  I think that was Jake's favorite part of camping.  He's still laughing about it and how dad has no sensor.
After the moose encounter, everyone ate dinner.  We started our dutch ovens too.  I made apple crisp and Holly made a berry cobbler.  They were both delicious.  The apple crisp is going to be a must for camp-outs from now on! Man, it was delicious!  Soy tan buena!!!!  hahahaha
After dinner, the kids played "Jakey says."  Man it was hilarious.  Jake would tell them to do something and they did.....for at least an hour.  they just have so much fin being all together.  Even the little ones joined in on all the fun.
The kids went to bed earlier than last night.  They all were so tired because they played hard all day long.  Today was a blast.  I love being with my family!
