Day 2- Abuelito's Ranch

Today I woke up early hearing Papi leave for work.  Then I went in laid in bed with Mami and we just talked for so long.  Then we realized Angel and his family had arrived.  They got up and drove the 4 hours and got to Casas around 7:30-8:00am.  It was so wonderful to see them.  Mami opened the door and Vanessa totally skipped her and came straight to me and gave me such a giant hug. She is the cutest little thing.  I couldn't believe how much her and Lili look alike!  Then I ran out to give them all hugs and help them come in.  I took Eric out of the baby car seat as soon as possible and couldn't stop snuggling that little cutie.  He is so adorable!  I just couldn't get enough of him today!
Odette's grandma just past away the day we got here and her funeral is today in Colonial Juarez, just down the road.  So we get to keep the kids while they are there.  Her grandma lived a good long life though.
After Angel and Odette left for the funneral, Papi came home from work to take us to the ranch.  He runs a pecan nut ranch for his friends, Marvin and Gay Longhurst.  So he took us out to show us how it all works and runs.  It was really fascinating to see all the hard work that goes into enjoying a yummy pecan,
Papi also took us to see the rabbits that he is raising to give the workers for meat when the time comes.  They just had babies that morning before we got there.  They were cool to see.  I had never seen baby bunnies.  They look like little rats without hair.  But Papi was telling us that it takes 6 weeks for them to fully grow and start producing themselves.  That was shocking that they go from so tiny to the biggest rabbits I've seen.
After the ranch everyone was hungry so we ate then the kids played a bit while I was packing our bags to go spend the rest of the week in Chihuahua (4 hours away).  We left in the evening.  Once we got to Chihuahua, we went straight over to AnaLaura's house.  We arrived at 10:00pm and she had cena ready and waiting for us.  Our kids weren't too hungry though, just tired since they all fell asleep on the way.  We spent a couple of hours there and then went to Angel's house to stay for the week. Angel is living at Papi and Mami's house and taking care of it while they are living in Casas Grandes.  It was a really packed full long day but wonderful!  It's so great to be here!!!
